STEAM (Sea Traffic management in the Eastern Mediterranean) a collective project has been shortlisted for the #IAPH2022 Sustainability Award

MarineFields is proud to work with the STEAM project (Sea Traffic management in the Eastern Mediterranean) by providing PERSEUS, MarineFields’ data sharing platform. STEAM is a collective project between key stakeholders that has been shortlisted for the #IAPH2022 Sustainability Award in the ‘Digitalization’ category.

One of STEAM’s objective is to achieve Port Collaborative Decision Making (PortCDM) and PERSEUS is in the central to this objective. PERSEUS platform enables actors to share time stamps and common situational awareness among each other associated to port call operations. It enables supply chain visibility as well as port to port communication.

With all the shared data collected PERSEUS creates a valuable process for efficient analysis, decision making and for an aligned planning process for all port actors. In addition, the enhancement of data sharing capabilities is expected to help establish Cyprus ports as transshipment hubs and upgrade their maritime significance in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Leading Maritime Enterprises and CMMI Join Forces to Drive Green Transition in Shipping Industry

The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, in collaboration with Tototheo Maritime and MarineFields Holding Ltd., is proud to announce the launch of the ADAPTATION project. This innovative initiative is set to revolutionise the shipping sector by reducing port berthing waiting times and enhancing the efficiency of maritime logistics operations.

The ADAPTATION project utilises intelligent data acquisition and cutting-edge decision support tools to minimise waiting times for incoming traffic at ports, thus limiting idle fuel consumption and lowering emissions. This translates to Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Transport, contributing to a greener future for the shipping industry.

The ADAPTATION project provides a decision support mechanism for smart ports, optimising just-in-time solutions, and directly impacting sustainable transport, fuel consumption, and emissions. The initiative is a significant step towards a greener future for the shipping industry and demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability by the project consortium.

The project CODEVELOP-GT/0322/0096 (ADAPTATION) is funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program, through the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation, and officially commenced on 1st February 2023.
